Diane Graham Coombs passed away on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2002, in
Santa Rosa. She was the wife of the late SRJC instructor Robert
Coombs. She is survived by her daughter Laura Smith and her husband
Dennis and children Cara and Colin of Carmichael, her son Richard
Coombs and his wife Jennifer and children Natalie, Jessica and
Amelia of Windsor, her son Paul Coombs and his wife Sylvia and
children Alexandra and Evan of Santa Rosa, cherished companion
Lloyd Pearson of Santa Rosa and his children Kent and Bev Pearson,
Craig Pearson, Sharon and Carl Goslovich and Sheryl and Randy
Caffey. Also survived by brother Hamlin Graham of Waterboro, South
Carolina. Mrs. Coombs was born in Delta, Colorado in 1925, and
moved to California at the age of 17. She attended San Jose State
College and taught kindergarten before marrying. Mrs. Coombs was a
resident of Santa Rosa since 1959 and a proud and adoring homemaker
who championed the important role of mothers. Mrs. Coombs was an
accomplished singer with the Etude Women’s Chorus for 42 years. For
over 35 years she was seen square dancing throughout the region
several nights a week. Mrs. Coombs also was active in the Redwood
Garden Club and on the Oak Park Tennis Team, where she continued
playing into her seventies. She was a devoted friend to so very
many. A celebration of Diane Coombs’ Life will be held on Saturday,
Nov. 30, at 2:00 p.m. at the Windsor Golf Club, 6555 Skylane Blvd.,
