David Wardlaw Swain died in Grants Pass, OR. on June 10, at the
age of 86. He was predeceased by his wife Dolores, his parents
Arthur and Letitia Swain of Sebastopol, his brother Stanley and
sister Alice.
He is survived by his twin sister Louise Johnston and her
husband Don of Sebastopol and several nieces and nephews.
During World War II David served in the U.S. Navy as a radio man
in the South Pacific.
Swain was with the Bank of Sonoma County for 17 years and later
became a partner in Hatch Drilling Co. This was followed by real
estate developments in Nevada, Colorado and Georgia and oil well
drilling in Oklahoma. He became a realtor in California. At his
request, no services were held.
