County disposal site reduce hours

SANTA ROSA – Effective July 1, 2009, Sonoma County waste
disposal sites will be closed on Sundays. This action will impact
all of the county’s waste disposal sites, specifically the Central
Landfill, and the Annapolis, Healdsburg, Guernville, and Sonoma
transfer stations. 
Notices regarding the new schedule have been sent out through
local utility bills and information has been posted on the
Department’s websites (www.sonoma-county.org/tpw/  and www.recyclenow.org).  Notifications
in English and Spanish have also been posted at all of the disposal
sites.
Decreases in waste streams are occurring across the state due to
the economic slow down. The County has reduced hours of operations
in order to contain costs and to mitigate rate increases on users.
While fees will increase as of July 1, these increases would have
been much greater had the reduced schedule not been adopted.
The new hours will be:
•Annapolis Transfer Station 33549 Annapolis Rd., closed
Sun.-Mon.-Tues. Disposal Wed. through Sat. 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Recycling Wed. through Sat. 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. For information, call

•Central Disposal Site 500 Mecham Rd., Petaluma closed Sundays.
Disposal Mon. through Sat. 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Recycling and reuse,
Mon. through Sat. 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Household Toxics Facility
(Building #5) Thurs. through Sat. 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Composting
drop-off Mon. through Sat. 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Retail sales, Mon.
through Fri. 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sat. 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. For
