A big local construction project is finally getting underway after nearly a decade of debating, designing and planning: the Foley Family Community Pavilion at 3 North St., right next to the Little Saint food and event space. City officials handed the $7.5 million construction job to Santa Rosa-based company Wright Contracting last month. Everyone involved will be hosting a jovial groundbreaking ceremony this coming Tuesday at noon. Attendees will be able to walk through the property and check it out, and officials will have some images of the final design on display as well. They estimate construction will take 12-15 months. “The pavilion will provide a new permanent home for the Farmer’s Market, making the market a standout regional destination,” City Councilmember Chris Herrod wrote in a recent newsletter. “It will also provide much needed relief to our over-used Plaza for events, both public and private. Thanks again to the Foley Family Foundation for their generous contribution to this wonderful community asset. We hope for an opening in the Summer of 2025.” (Source: City of Healdsburg & Chris Herrod via Mailchimp)
