Street fair, car show and building dedication at HHS, April 29
The Healdsburg High School CARnival and Street Fair will be held on campus on Saturday, April 29 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in addition, visitors can explore the newly remodeled campus and the STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) building. This building will be dedicated at 11:30 a.m. on behalf of two former science teachers, Mr. Giampoalo and Mr. Filippi.
Healdsburg Chorus at Raven, April 29 and 30
The Healdsburg Chorus will perform a rousing selection of jazz and swing with a little bit of love included in “A Little Jazz, A Little Swing, A Little Love.” The chorus will perform at the Raven Theater in Healdsburg on Saturday, April 29, at 7 p.m. and on Sunday, April 30, at 3 p.m. Tickets are $15 each and are available online at www.healdsburgchorus.com or EventBrite. Tickets are also available at the Santa Rosa and Healdsburg Copperfield’s, and Pages on the Green in Windsor.
New Horizons Band to play, April 30
The New Horizons Band of Sonoma County, with Music Director Lew Sbrana, will play its annual Spring Concert on Sunday, April 30. The free concert at Healdsburg Community Church (11 University Street) begins at 2 p.m. with a British march, “The Light Cavalry Overture,” the love theme from the film Cinema Paradiso, “The Irish Washerwoman,” highlights from “South Pacific” and other easy listening selections. The band is made up of 80 seniors and has been playing together 18 years.
‘Healdsburg Flavors’ education benefit, May 4
Two Thirty-Five Luxury Suites is hosting a fundraiser for the Healdsburg Education Foundation, May 4 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Healdsburg Flavors is a progressive tasting, with a different local food and beverage pairing in each of the hotel’s four suites. HEF supporters will have the opportunity to sample hard-to-find wines from Jaclynn Renee Wines and Ramey Wine Cellars, a barrel-aged cocktail from Alley 6 Distillery, teas from The Taste of Tea, and small bites from Café Lucia and Moustache Baked Goods. Pete Seghesio will also be debuting his hand-crafted salumi, which will soon be available at Journeyman Meat Co.’s Center St. location. Tickets are $20 a person and all proceeds will go to support Healdsburg public schools through HEF. ‘Snow White’ play at HHS, May 5 and 6
On Friday and Saturday, May 5 and 6, the Healdsburg High School drama department will produce “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” a comedy inspired by the original children’s story. 8:15 p.m. in Frost Hall; tickets will go on sale at 7:30 p.m.
Community Band performance, May 7
The next performance of the Healdsburg Community Band will be an upbeat affair, as the ensemble pays homage to Elvis Presley, The Blues Brothers, the famous big bands of the ‘40s,Chuck Berry and light classical pieces. “Come Dancing” is the theme of this year’s Spring concert, Sunday, May 7, 3 p.m. at the Healdsburg Community Church, 1100 University Avenue, Healdsburg. Admission is free.
