FIRST FRIDAY of every month the Salvation Army will drive
through the three Senior Communities and pick up anything you have
placed either in front of your garage door, or by your front door.
This is an every month service they are offering. They would like
to expand to the surrounding community if there is a need, so
please, even if you only have enough to partially fill one brown
bag, put it out where they can see it. What an easy way to help
others in these hard times.
In Our Own Back Yard (IOOBY) is a program sponsored by Land
Paths that helps students take care of our protected lands. Over
700 Sonoma County students in grades 2-6 and 11-12 participate. In
the course of the school year, students visit adopted properties
four times, including a stewardship project. They need additional
adult helpers. Please call 544-7284 or email [email protected] to help.
Chris Love is a longtime Healdsburg resident who believes we all
need to make a difference in our world. Your items for this column
may be submitted by email at [email protected]
or by calling 433-1178.
