Sample ballots in mail
Sample ballots for the June 7, 2016 Consolidated Primary Election are arriving in mailboxes soon. The County of Sonoma reminds voters that delivery time of nearly 250,000 booklets takes longer than regular first class mail. Voters who have not received a booklet by May 19, 2016, may contact the Registrar of Voters Office at 435 Fiscal Drive in Santa Rosa, or call 565-6800, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Voters are reminded to look for their assigned polling place, which is printed on the cover of the Sample Ballot booklet. Some precincts may have been consolidated to reduce costs; as a result, polling locations may have changed. Voters who have opted out of receiving a paper sample ballot and Voter Information Pamphlet may use the Sample Ballot/Polling Place look-up tool at vote.sonoma-county.org. This feature is updated weekly. The Sonoma County Registrar of Voters office is asking all voters to pay special attention to their sample ballot pamphlet and ballot card instructions. Due to the large number of candidates on the ballot for the U.S. Senate race (34 candidates and one write-in space), voters need to pay special attention to the instructions. This “Vote for One” senate race will have candidates on both sides of the ballot card. Specific instructions are also on the ballot cards. All poll workers will be instructed to inform voters to pay special attention to the ballot instructions for all races and initiatives. Any questions about the June 7, 2016, Consolidated Primary Election should be directed to the Registrar of Voters Office, at 565-6800.

Water management plan workshop
The City of Healdsburg is preparing its 2015 Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) update and invites community members to a workshop to learn more about the plan, the creation process, the data, and what it means for the city’s long-term water supply. The workshop will be held on Thursday, May 12, from 5:30  – 7:30 p.m. at the Healdsburg Community Center meeting room, at 1557 Healdsburg Ave.
The UWMP, required by state law, is an evaluation of the city’s ability to meet the water demands of its customers projected over a 20-year span, which must be updated every five years. In addition, the state requires that the city’s water use per person be reduced 20 percent by 2020.
