Councilmember Shaffer to lead conservation
forum:
Councilmember Kathleen Shaffer and Sonoma County Conservation
Action’s “Know Your Neighbor Program” will conduct a conservation
forum at the Sebastopol Library on Monday, July 13, at 6:30 p.m.
The meeting will demonstrate how to save gallons and therms in
order to help participants save money and reduce carbon emissions.
Sebastopol has asked for a voluntary 15 percent reduction in water
use and Sonoma County has set a goal of 67.5 gallons per person a
day. For electricity, the goal is 2.05 therms a day. Bring water
and electric bills to the meeting to determine usage, and then plan
to reach new conservation goals. For information call 829-0669.
Councilmember Wilson to lead CIR
discussion:
Sebastopol Councilmember Guy Wilson will lead an open house
discussion on Community Impact Reports (CIRs) in the Sebastopol
Library Forum Room on July 14 from 2 to 4 p.m. Topics will include:
How comprehensive should a CIR be? How big must a new business or
development be to require the completion of a CIR? Should smaller
new businesses complete only a simple information checklist? What
purpose should be served by a CIR requirement? Come to be heard,
and to hear other viewpoints.
