On Tuesday, Nov. 8, the voters in the Windsor Unified School District will be asked to consider Measure F, a local school facilities bond. Measure F funds will be used to renovate and modernize the district’s older schools; upgrade libraries, science and computer labs; complete the Windsor High School stadium complex; and build a new elementary school to accommodate student enrollment. Bonds funds will be applied at every school to benefit our elementary, middle and high school students.
We must invest in our schools. Our schools have been built and maintained because Windsor had the vision and commitment to pass bonds such as this one. Measure F provides local control and funding to ensure we have 21st century classrooms for all our students. This bond benefits even those without children in the district. To all property owners, improving the quality of our public schools enhances property values. To all Windsor citizens, improving the quality of our public schools creates a town we can proudly call home.
Vote Yes on Measure F is supported by wide range of community stakeholders including students, parents, teachers, and seniors, as well as local public safety and business leaders. The quality of education received by our children and grandchildren, the future citizens and workforce of this town, will be decided by you on Nov. 8.
Measure F is on Card D, at the end of the ballot. Please vote schools first – by starting with Card D and voting your ballot from the back to the front. Thank you for helping provide our students with the best education possible by joining us in voting Yes on Measure F.
Natalie Balfour, WHS Class of 2002, and Bill Adams, Windsor School Board Trustee, are parents of Windsor students and co-chairs of the Vote Yes on Measure F campaign committee.
