Comedian Chelsea Handler Spotted in Healdsburg

This feels like an awfully silly piece of local celebrity gossip, but some of you might be interested to know that comedian Chelsea Handler was spotted hanging out in here town a couple of weekends ago. The former late-night talk show host “ate, drank and laughed her way through lunch at Bravas Bar de Tapas in Healdsburg on her recent visit to Sonoma County,” the Press Democrat reports — aka, that little restaurant-in-a-house on Center Street, right across from the old Raven Film Center building. Bravas also happens to have been voted the best place in town to have a business lunch by Healdsburg Tribune readers, for our “Best of Healdsburg” issue last winter. Coincidence? According to the PD, “Handler dined at the popular Spanish restaurant April 14 before performing at Santa Rosa’s Luther Burbank Center for the Arts as part of her worldwide ‘Little Big B*itch’ tour.” The comedian posted some pics of her Healdsburg visit to Facebook and Instagram, showing herself and a group of friends — including her sister and her opening act, comedian Vanessa Gonzalez — drinking what appears to be Bravas’ famous sangria. “Thanks for another fun weekend of shows and thank you to my special guests!” Handler wrote. “Grateful for all the joy, travel, and laughter.” (Source: Press Democrat & Chelsea Handler via Facebook & Healdsburg Tribune)
