State meet — Cloverdale High School junior Paden Collard joined an elite list of runners at the prestigious CIF State Cross Country Championships at Woodward Park in Fresno on Nov. 24. Collard placed 33rd in a field of 217 runners in a fast 16:54.

Junior cross-country standout Paden Collard etched their name in the Cloverdale High School history books on Saturday, Nov. 24, competing in the Division 5 race at the CIF State Cross-Country Championships at Woodward Park in Fresno.
The state appearance was a first for Collard after being selected by an advancement committee when the North Coast Section Division 5 race, a state qualifier, was cancelled due to poor air quality on Nov. 20. 
With his state appearance, Collard joins an elite list of CHS cross country qualifiers to the prestigious meet.
Competing on the classic, 3.1-mile course, Collard finished the race in a sizzling 16:54, placing 33rd in a field of 217 runners.
