The Cloverdale High School Spirit Team had the pleasure of performing at the Sacramento Kings vs. Denver Nuggets game during half time on Saturday, Jan. 6. They performed with 10-plus other varsity teams who all spent months practicing and perfecting their performances.
The CHS Spirit Team is a group of 10 youth who are dedicated to the sport and have spent a great deal of their free time practicing, rain or shine. Cheerleading involves athleticism and dedication. It teaches important life values such as preparation, dedication, time management skills, the value of hard work, the importance of putting in your best effort, patience and working together as a team.
Cheerleading is a practice for the larger arena of life. The parent of one of the cheerleaders, Reyna Lopez, gives a special thanks to coach, Sherrie McNulty, for keeping our youth busy, safe, engaged and active, and for helping boost their self-esteem. This special thanks also goes out to the assistant coaches as well, Vianey López and Ruby Stone. Way to go Eagles!
