Certified chef Patty James, known lately for her journey into
children’s health, has cooked up two new culinary classes for
adults and will teach them this month at the location of her former
cooking school in Sebastopol.
On June 12, James will teach participants a dish she made
recently for a food and wine pairing at Dutton Goldfield Winery.
Caesar salad with homemade sourdough croutons and fresh pasta rolls
with spinach, shitake mushrooms and sun-dried tomatoes in fennel
broth are on the menu for the first class. Students will also learn
variations on the pasta roll dish — both of which are vegetarian
and can be made vegan.
The second class, slated for June 19, caters to the sweet tooth
in all of us.
James will teach people how to make her grandma’s strawberry
shortcake and whipped cream; raw carrot cake; and flourless
chocolate cake with raspberry puree.
Classes cost $40 each, and will be held from 1 to 3:30 p.m., at
Caper’s and Catering, 330 South Main St., Sebastopol.
