Chateau Souverain

will celebrate the harvest with a Nouveau and Zydeco celebration
on Saturday, Nov. 15 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the winery, located
at 400 Souverain Rd., in Geyserville. The release of the latest
nouveau will be paired with the sounds of live zydeco music from
Gator Beat and food prepared by chef Martin Courtman to accompany a
variety of wines. Tickets are $20 per person. Call 433-8281 for

At what other event
can you taste wines from more than 50 local wineries, enjoy food
prepared by local purveyors and support young journalists at the
same time? The only one we know about is the annual Richard T.
Torkelson Memorial Wine Tasting that will be held on Wednesday,
Nov. 19 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Luther Burbank Center for the
Arts in Santa Rosa. The event is in its 29th year and raises money
for journalism and communications scholarships. This year, the fund
awarded $8,500 in scholarships to eight outstanding students.
Tickets are $20 per person and available at the LBC, the Press
Democrat and the evening of the event.
