Charles E. Welling – Bodega rancher, contractor

Charles Edward “Sonny” Welling died Nov. 1, 2007 in Sebastopol.
He was 82. He was the husband of Beverly Welling and father of two
children, Charles “Ed” Welling Jr. and Sharon Harston.
Also surviving are grandchildren David (Nicole) Harston, James
Harston, Gary Welling and his fiancée Rebecca Kanonchoff, Stephen
Welling, Alicia Welling, Daniel Park, and David Park. A
great-granddaughter of Hannah Harston, also survives.
He was born in Sebastopol, July 15, 1925. He married his wife
Beverly in 1948 and lived all his life in Bodega.
Welling was a rancher all his life and also worked as a general
engineering contractor throughout western Sonoma County.
He loved fishing with his grandchildren, working with the land,
and spending quality time with his wife and family.
A Visitation was held on Nov. 6, 2007 with a Funeral Service on
Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007 at Parent-Sorensen Funeral Home in
Sebastopol. A Graveside Service followed at Sebastopol Memorial
Lawn Cemetery.
