The Sonoma County Board of Zoning Adjustments approved a cell tower lease at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in a 4-1 vote. Second District Board Member Lawrence Reed was the dissenting vote.
The tower would be an “Intermediate Freestanding Commercial Telecommunication Facility, including a 70-foot high faux broadleaf oak tree mono-pole (‘mono-oak’) with a nine-panel antenna,” according to the county.
The lease area is 900-square-feet on the rear portion of the 0.86-acre parcel. The project also includes a new gravel maintenance access driveway to and from the lease area.
There is a 10-day appeal period for this project.
The tower applicant was Matt Moore, with Verizon Wireless.
