Catherine Crittendon (aka Critter), born in Oak Park, Illinois, long-time resident of Healdsburg, California, died peacefully, free of pain, surrounded by friends and family.
She was adored by John Bryant, the Love of Her Life, preceded in death by her father, Bob Crittendon, survived by her mother, Joanne Thorne, her sister’s Cheri Lyda (Greg), Carol Rowland (Rich), her nieces & nephews Katherine Jaffee (Wyatt), Rebecca Clark (Bill, Richie Rowland, Robby Rowland, her grandnieces/nephews Bailey, Mitch, Drew, Aubrey & Duncan, and her countless friends and acquaintances.
She had a long prestigious career at the Santa Rosa Press Democrat and was known for her selfless nature and huge heart. Cathy was an avid sports fan, like her father, Bob. She was the consummate host: lover of cooking and entertaining and celebrating holiday traditions.
Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 13, 11 a.m., at Grace Lutheran Church, Cloverdale, with reception to follow at Citrus Fair Auditorium. At Critter’s request, everyone is to wear red.
