On March 27, at approximately 7:10 p.m., the Healdsburg Police Department received a report from REDCOM of a possible stabbing at the Canyon Run Apartments, located at 1687 Canyon Run. Bells Ambulance and Healdsburg Fire Department had already staged in the area.

Healdsburg police officers responded and arrived on scene at approximately 7:12 p.m. Officers located 25-year-old victim Ivan Torres lying on the ground with a stab wound to his torso.

Bells Ambulance began transporting Ivan Torres to an area hospital, and while en route to the hospital, Torres was pronounced deceased.

Healdsburg officers worked through the night interviewing witnesses and persons of interests. Through the investigation, the suspect was identified as 18-year-old Healdsburg resident Moses Torres.

Officers were able to determine that Torres was at a location in the Larkfield-Wikiup area, where he was arrested without incident. Later in the night, officers were able to learn the location of the weapon used and recovered it.

Torres will be booked into the Sonoma County Jail on murder (187 penal code) charges and held without bail, pending his arraignment. While the suspect is in custody, the investigation is ongoing and officers will be at the scene for a portion of the day.

If anyone has any information regarding this case, please contact the Healdsburg Police Department at 707-431-3377.
