Booth space available through Sept. 14
After literally flirting with disaster last year during the North Bay wildfires, the Healdsburg Chamber of Commerce’s Business Showcase and Community Resource fair will return to the city’s plaza on Wednesday, Oct. 10 from 4 to 7 p.m.
Last year’s event was scheduled for Oct. 12, just three days after the devastating wildfires struck Santa Rosa and other parts of Sonoma County and when Fitch Mountain and other communities were still under possible evacuation watches.
As one more sign of local resiliency in the aftermath of rebuilding from last year’s wildfires, almost all the businesses that had planned to participate in last year’s expo are returning to their same booth space they reserved in 2017.
“If you want to know what’s new and happening in Healdsburg you’ll want to attend the Business Showcase and Community Resource Fair,” said Carla Howell, executive director of the chamber.
“This annual event is an opportunity to meet face to face with city staff and city councilmembers and local business owners and non-profits. Bring the kids, too; there will be lots of free samples and giveaways and entertainment.”
Local businesses can reserve a booth space for $200 ($250 for non-chamber members) through Sept. 14. The fees increase by $50 after that date.
Local businesses that signed up for last year included Big John’s Market, Costeaux Bakery, Bank of Marin, Healdsburg District Hospital, Dry Creek Inn, Healdsburg Lumber, Bear Republic Brewery — almost 50 in all.
The city of Healdsburg will offer displays and demonstrations by the fire department, parks and recreation, housing department and police department.
