Editor: I see the city council approved $2.8 million for a study
to determine the possibility of improving the memorial bridge.
It’s not enough the federal government spends money it doesn’t
have (the taxpayers) the city does the very same thing, just on a
smaller scale. In these difficult economic times it would be wiser
to cut spending rather than do what politicians everywhere do —
spend other peoples money. Perhaps our council members are going to
cut a check from their own pockets. (Wishful thinking.) The mayor
even states after the study, there still may not be funds for the
repair. The one proves the insanity of our government actions.
