Very soon, bells will be ringing and kids will be running to bus
stops and classrooms with back-packs stuffed with new school
supplies. Healdsburg Unified Schools start August 18th! While you
may hear many-a-moans from your school-aged children, we at the
Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Sonoma County can’t wait to
welcome back our Club kids!
Every day after school over 500 kids in Healdsburg run through
the Club doors. They first receive homework help from college
educated youth-development professionals in our Power Hour program.
We aim to keep young people in school, prepared to learn, and
academically successful.
After Power Hour and a healthy snack, we provide Club-members
with a variety of enrichment activities in our five core program
areas: Health & Life-skills, The Arts, Education & Career
Development, Character & Leadership, and Sports, Fitness &
Recreation. We also offer teen programming and youth volunteer
opportunities. In addition to Academic Success, we want every kid
who comes through our doors to build good character and make
healthy life choices.
Many people think of Boys & Girls Clubs as a recreation Club
with sports as its primary offering. However, our neighborhood Club
offers much more. We work every day to inspire Healdsburg young
people to become caring, productive, responsible citizens. We want
these young leaders to realize their full potential and recognize
the great futures ahead of them.
We have two Clubs in Healdsburg. Our Clubhouse is located at 555
Piper Street near Recreation Park. Our Foss Creek Club Site is
located at 405 Grove Street and open to all residents of Foss Creek
Commons. If you are interested in registering your child at either
Healdsburg Club, please call Rika Meyer at 707-433-4479.
We also offer a before school morning program at Healdsburg
Elementary School, beginning 90 minutes before the start of the
school day. All members in this program receive free breakfast
every day, homework assistance, and a variety of activities to
partake in!
Our Healdsburg Clubs are once again offering our Premier
After-School Youth-Development Programs for a small $10 membership
fee and a suggested $40 supply fee for the entire school year.
The cost of our program is kept low so that all families can
afford to participate. Strong community support is the life line of
our Clubs. We urge you to consider supporting the Clubs and making
a difference in the life of a child. Please contact Michelle at
707-528-7977 ext. 103 or
