Preparations are underway to spend some of the funds created by the passage of Measure D in November and this week’s Healdsburg Unified School District Board of Trustees meeting will seek to start the approval process for those funds.
Among items being discussed are the bond implementation plan, certification of the elections results, bylaws for the citizen oversight committee which will monitor the use of funds and a resolution to reimburse expenditures already made from future bond funds.
In addition to money matters, the 2015-2016 audit results for the district will be presented and a debt management policy for the board will be discussed. Also, the college readiness block grant, disposal of surplus property and an agreement to sell a portable classroom to the Sonoma Valley Unified School district will be up for approval. Public Agency Retirement Services, (PARS) as an supplement to current retirement plans will also be discussed.
On the curriculum side of things, the K-5 ELA and Math assessments from the STAR 360 test will be presented.
Finally, the board will consider approving badminton as a new athletic team at the high school, they will consider a resolution to declare National School Counseling week and Food Service Supervisor Rosa Rubio will present an update on her programs for the district.
The meeting will take place Wednesday, Jan. 18, at Healdsburg City Hall, 401 Grove Street, with the open session beginning at 6 p.m.
