Cyclists around Sonoma County skipped their car rides and hopped on their bikes, despite drizzly gray weather in honor of Bike to Work Day on Thursday, May 12. In Sebastopol, the Joe Rodota Trail served as the main route to and from Santa Rosa, where many cyclists headed to their destinations.
“The Joe Rodota Trail is a great trail if you bike to work in Santa Rosa,” said Jerry Allen, president of the Sonoma County Regional Grange and volunteer with Community Market.
To get the riders going, Community Market, Village Bakery and Taylor Maid Coffee teamed together to supply an energizer station located on Petaluma Avenue at the trail with hot coffee, baked goods and healthy snacks and drinks.
“Many local and regional companies contributed snacks and supplies to Community Market for this event,” Allen said.
