Beverly Herrington passed away on November 13, 2017, at the age of 68. She fought a very private and personal battle with cancer.
Beverly was the beloved wife of Steven Herrington for 44 years and the loving mother to Brooke and Adam Herrington. She is survived by her mother Marilyn Ricks of Sacramento.
Beverly was a native Californian who grew up in Whittier and Hacienda Heights. She graduated from Los Altos High School and earned a degree in English from Chapman University in Orange, California. Her college experience gave her the opportunity to take a semester of international travel and see and study cultures and history of the world. She saw Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and South and Central America.
Beverly and Steve met at a church college youth group and married five years later. While in college, Beverly worked at Disneyland, and upon her graduation, she tried out for a writer’s position. Within two years she became Walt Disney Studios’ publications editor. She produced, designed, and edited several Disney magazines that are still featured on eBay as Disney classics and collectibles.
Beverly was defined by her sharp intellect, great wit and humor, with a vivacious and gregarious personality. She shined regardless of what social setting she may have found herself. Above all, Beverly loved her family. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Steve and was extremely proud of her two children. She enjoyed watching them both graduate from college and become successful professionals.
The family will grieve privately through the holidays and family birthdays. In January, they will host a public celebration to honor her beautiful and rewarding life.
