The annual Marie Sparks Award for volunteerism was presented this year to Cindy Beth and Kent Mitchell.
Beth is a third generation Healdsburg resident. Her parents, Tom and Gail Johnson, were also active volunteers. While Beth has dedicated decades of service to youth sports, Healdsburg Little League in particular, she volunteers in other areas as well. Her husband and two children often assist in her volunteer efforts.
Mitchell, who died last year, was known as a tireless community advocate. He volunteered on many nonprofit committees and boards and served three terms on the city council.
