Principal Rhonda Bellmer stays on top of safety protocols for all her students.

Big event planned for retirement party

West Side School principal and superintendent Rhonda Bellmer is stepping down at the end of this year after 13 years at the school, and the community is throwing her a bash to commemorate it.
Current West Side families are invited to a private event at lunchtime on Friday, June 1, with the campus opening to the public for a big party at 3 p.m.
There will be a live band and lots of dancing, with games and activities for kids of all ages, including a balloon toss, fishing game, sack races, temporary tattoos, a hair and nail salon, art walk, limbo and basketball.
There will be food available including cheesecake sampling from the “College Confectionista,” West Side alumnus Anamaria Morales.
There is a promise of “no speeches” but attendees are encouraged to bring a favorite story or photo of Bellmer for her memory book.
No RSVP is required, but organizers are looking for volunteers and donations. Contact Angie Bauman for more information 322-8694 or
