Throughout the school year, the Windsor Times will name a male and female athlete of the week.
Silva serves notice of great wrestling season
Junior wrestler Trent Silva has wasted no time in the first month of the high school season, setting his sights high in his third varsity campaign. A returning NCS champion and state qualifier, Silva turned in a superb performance at the tough Vacaville Tournament on Dec. 1, going 7-0 to win his weight class and earn all-tourney honors.
Osborn a leader on and off the mat
Junior Ivory Osborn is off to a great start to the 2018-19 wrestling campaign, taking first place in her weight bracket at the Yuba City Tournament on Saturday. The returning NCS placer and state qualifier is among the leaders on a strong girls team this season, one that should contend for a league crown.
