Anyone can submit an idea and then a professional artists will bring your Charlie to life. The deadline for submissions has been extended to Sept. 30. Applications can be found around town and also at https://people4parkswindsor.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Extended-Charlie-brown-theme-.final_.pdf. Children and adults are encouraged to apply.

If you live in Windsor and have a loved one on active duty in the military, you can honor them with a Windsor Hometown Hero military banner. The committee is now accepting applications from family members to honor loved ones on active duty in the United States military by displaying a personalized banner in their honor.

According to a statement, eligible candidates are required to be currently serving in one of the five service branches of the U.S. Armed Forces (Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard) and have a tie to Windsor with immediate family residing (past or present) or currently working in Windsor.

The application fee of $200 includes a civic center banner and a small replica souvenir banner that will be provided to the family at the annual Veterans Day ceremony on Nov. 11 on the Windsor Town Green. Financial assistance is available. Applications are due by Thursday, Sept. 13. Banner installation will take place the week of Veterans Day.
