Antonio C. “Tony” Martino died Jan. 25, 2008 in Sebastopol. He
was 84.
Martino is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dolores; his
children Mary Olson (Lee), Christine Montgomery, Marilyn Dey
(Richard), Madalyn Babcock (David), Lisa Martino, and Steven
Martino; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and his
caregiver Taina “Tina” Boladau.
He was preceded in death by his brother Joseph, and his sister
Theresa.
A 34 year resident of Sebastopol, Martino had served in the Army
Air Corp, and co-owned an auto parts business with his brother Joe.
He was a life long gardener and was a member of the Italian
Catholic Federation, Young Men’s Institute, and an active 3rd and
4th degree Knight of Columbus.
A funeral Mass was celebrated on Jan. 29, at 11 a.m. at St.
Sebastian’s Catholic Church in Sebastopol. If desired, memorial

Rose Marie Poncia
Member of local dairy family
Rose Marie Poncia died Jan. 25, 2008 in Sebastopol. She was
91.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Poncia and her
brother John Lisignoli. She is survived by her children, Richard
Poncia (Linda), Nancy Stedman (Steve), and William Poncia
(Virginia); seven grandchildren; three great-granddaughters; her
sister Lena Becchetti; sisters-in-law Connie Poncia, Madeline
Poncia, and Amy Ransom; numerous nieces and nephews and their
children and grandchildren.
A hard working dairy wife for many years, Rose enjoyed sewing,
gardening, and traveling with Lena. She was a member of the St.
Michael’s Chapter of the Italian Catholic Federation and a
parishioner of St. Sebastian’s Catholic Church.
She was a resident of Live Oak Rest Home in Sebastopol for the
last five years. A Visitation was held on Sunday, Jan. 27 and a
Vigil Service followed. A Funeral Mass was held on Monday, Jan. 28,
2008 at St. Sebastian’s Catholic Church in Sebastopol. If desired,
