Angelo Herman Deghi entered into rest Feb. 25 in Santa Rosa with
his loving family by his side. He was the dearly beloved husband of
61 years of Carol E. Deghi of Santa Rosa, cherished father of
Ronald (Suzanne) Deghi of Sebastopol and Cynthia Gunderson of Santa
Rosa, beloved grandfather of Jill Shubel of Santa Rosa, Amy Cline
of Ukiah, Heather Cavey of Windsor, Christine McBride of Occidental
and Russell Deghi of Sebastopol. He is also survived by seven great
grandchildren, his sister Adelyn Moore of Santa Rosa and numerous
nieces and nephews. A native and lifelong resident of Santa Rosa,
aged 87 years. Mr. Deghi was a graduate of Santa Rosa High School,
Class of 1937. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps,
serving with the U.S. Marine Bombing Squadron VMB-611, with bombing
missions in the Philippines during World War II. He is a founding
member of the Cathedral of St. Eugene and a member of the St.
Vincent de Paul-St. Eugene’s Conference. An avid gardener and
fancier of swimming, Angelo will be remembered as always making
“family” first. Family and friends were invited to attend
a funeral mass on Friday, March 2 at the Cathedral of St. Eugene in
Santa Rosa. Interment followed at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Santa
Rosa. The family prefers Memorial Contributions be made to the St.
