College Bound - Pictured above is Analy volleyballer Lexi Mudd (Sonoma State) and below is golf star Madison Beckett (Dominican College) gathered with family as both signed athletic scholarship offer sheets last week.

It’s been a banner year for Analy High School student athletes, with a half dozen kids inking college scholarship offer sheets during the school year.
The latest signings came on April 22 when volleyball standout Lexi Mudd and golf star Madison Beckett signed letters of intent to attend Sonoma State University and Dominican College respectively.
Mudd, a three year All-League libero and team captain, has been on an upward trajectory since stepping onto a volleyball court for the first time at the age of seven. At Sonoma State, she’ll rejoin legendary Empire Volleyball Club coach Bear Grassl on the Seawolves roster.
“I’ve been playing for coach Grassl since I was eight years old and have grown up watching Sonoma State play,” Mudd said, before thanking Analy coach Holly Folendorf and her entire family for their support. “I’m excited to play for SSU.”
During a distinguished high school playing career, Mudd helped lead the Tigers to the North Coast Section playoffs each season, rising to become the premier defender in the Sonoma County League.
“The thing I’m most proud of is being able to play for not only myself, but for my teammates,” she said. “I took pride in helping a lot of my younger teammates become better players.”
Mudd plans to major in Business Administration.

After taking up golf just before her freshman year, Beckett has not only been the quintessential natural athlete, but has also been the epitome of hard work and dedication in a sparkling high school career.
A four-year All-Leaguer and medalist at the Sonoma County League Tournament, she’s led the Tigers to SCL titles and trips to the NCS tourney in all four seasons, establishing a legacy as one of the best golfers to wear a Tigers uniform.
During her career, Beckett carried a scoring average of 39.8 and quickly rose to become the class of the league, showing not only talent but tremendous consistency.
“I’ve always been focused and determined to get better,” she said, citing the support of Analy coach Joseph Heil and a daily regimen that starts at 6 a.m. with early morning workouts. “I’m really hoping to play pro golf.”
At Dominican College in San Rafael, Beckett will play her home matches at Peacock Gap Country Club and the prestigious Meadow Club in Fairfax.
She plans to major in Business Communication.
