El Molino's Hayley Sheridan (18) battled for ball control in a varsity soccer visit to Petaluma on Sept. 13

The Lions and Tigers continued league soccer action last week with a full slate of matches, as Analy easily dispatched both opponents, while El Molino posted one win in three outings.
Tigers notch wins
Analy navigated the soft part of the SCL schedule last week and took care of business, beginning with a 6-1 win at Elsie Allen on Sept. 13.
“We started the game slow, but had a much better second half,” Tigers coach Brittney Briones reported. “In the second half the girls did a much better job of building up from the back and working the ball around.”
Goal scorers against the Lobos included Isabel Housman (2), Lilli Ziemer (2), Ryan Hernandez and Ana Hernandez.  Assists went to Macee Wacholz, Jennah Copeland and Bella Niedermair.
The Tigers paid a visit to Piner on Sept. 15, playing a solid all-around game to blank the Prospectors, 4-0.
“The girls played very well, and both teams were limited in numbers due to injuries,” Briones noted. “Lilli Ziemer played amazing through balls for our forwards, her distribution was great and she gave us several opportunities on goal.”

At press time Analy (7-2, 3-0) was prepping for a Sept. 20 match with visiting Healdsburg, and will host Sonoma Valley next Tuesday, Sept. 27 (5/7 p.m.).
Lions take one of three
El Molino turned in a solid week despite a tough schedule, falling to Sonoma Valley (1-0) and Petaluma (6-0), but bouncing back to defeat Elsie Allen (6-0).
“Overall it was a decent week,” El Mo coach Emily Farrant said. “We showed up to play against Sonoma, which was a fun game to watch. Having a bit of a younger team the girls are lacking the confidence they should have to go out there and win, but we’ll get there.”
The Lions got just what the doctor ordered in their Sept. 15 meeting with Elsie Allen, rebounding from a pair of shutout losses with a 6-0 romp. Carly Hittenmiller continued her assault on the competition with four goals. Also finding the net for the Lions were Lily Dittman and Victoria Briano.
El Molino (5-2, 1-2) will be back on the pitch on Sept. 20 (after press time) at Piner, and play host to Healdsburg on Thursday, Sept. 22 (5/7 p.m.).
