"The Shape of Things," a play by Neil LaBute, will be performed on stage at The 222 on two successive weekends, Feb. 21-23 and Feb. 28-March 2. It’s billed as a “fascinating study into the nature of love and art, and what happens when the two collide.” Tickets from free (18 and under) to $105 (gold level seating).
THE FISHING REPORT: October Fish Fest
October has to be the best month of the year. The low angle of the sun makes for comfortable radiant warmth and beautiful sunrises and sets. In addition, the fish and wildlife seem to sense that winter is coming and they tend to be very active, feeding at these polar times of the day.

I can’t imagine what Fred Rogers would think of our world today. The sweater and comfortable shoe-wearing children’s TV icon used his avuncular, calming voice and persona to share values which he thought of as Christian, but are much more universal—kindness, empathy, tolerance, dignity, willingness to accept other ideas, insatiable curiosity and quest for knowledge, tackling difficult issues head-on, and, most of all, being an all around nice person. To misquote the old Alka-Seltzer commercial, “Oh, what a relief he was.”
