There is lots going on in the gardening world during March and April. So get ready! Find your gloves and sharpen up your shovels and trowels! March 20 not only features the first day of spring, but also our local California Native Plant Society’s March program! Eliza Shepard will discuss her work on a “Locally Rare Plant Project.” Folks may bring photos of plants they believe should be included as rare plants.

As the year draws to a close, let’s review some of the more important transiting energy patterns that have been, and will continue to be. In general, we can discern two primary themes emerging. One is transformation. Saturn transits indicate where we have work to do. Saturn entered Scorpio, the sign of transformation, in October. Whatever house (area of life) we have the early degrees of Scorpio in our natal chart needs to be worked on. The intention should be letting go of whatever is old and stagnant in order to prepare for new beginnings in that same area in the future.

Fishing Report: Fish need water
The fish need water. We need rain. It really can’t get any more basic than that. We got a little rain on Tuesday but what is really needed is another 5-10 inches. Now I am reminded that we still have almost twice as much rain fall as we had last year and we ended up with a normal year, but all this good weather is a lot better for golf than for steelhead fishing.
