Addie Marie (Grant) Meyer passed away suddenly on July 7, 2007.
She was 87. Addie Marie was a devoted and loving wife, mother and
grandmother, beloved and respected by all who knew her. She was a
life long resident of Healdsburg and a sixth generation descendent
of Henry Delano Fitch and Josefa Carrillo. She was a graduate of
Healdsburg High School and the University of California, Berkeley,
where she graduated with distinction, receiving Phi Beta Kappa
Honors in 1941. Addie Marie enjoyed travelling and managed to touch
all parts of the world during her many journeys. She was
instrumental in establishing the local Christmas card appeal for
the American Field Service. Addie Marie was the wife of Dr. Emerson
L. Meyer, who died in October 2004. She is survived by her son, Jim
Meyer (Heidi) of Berkeley, CA; her daughter, Ann Mackey (Gene) of
St. Louis, MO; her grandchildren, Barbara Mattie (Geoff) of Austin,
TX, Clinton Whittemore of St. Louis, MO, and Katherine Whittemore
of Austin, TX; and her great grand daughters Emerson and Eleanor
Mattie of Austin, TX. Her brother, Dr. Donald Grant of Moraga, CA,
also survives her. The family will hold private memorial services.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the American Field
Service, the Healdsburg Museum, or to a charity of the donor’s
choice.
