A disaster benefit of a different kind will take place at
Guerneville’s Applewood Inn on Sunday, Jan 23
starting at 5:30 p.m. The gala dinner and raffle will benefit Chef
Angelo Dal Bon whose restaurant in Italy was destroyed by an
earthquake in November, 2004. Immediately after September 11, 2001
chefs from Northern Italy’s province of Brescia rallied behind Dal
Bon of La Campagnola restaurant to present a series of fund-
raising dinners and wine auctions. They collected $45,000 for the
families of the Windows on the World restaurant staff lost in the
collapse of the twin towers. Now a benefit will “turn the tables”
to help Dal Bon. Tickets are $100 per person with a dinner menu
presented by new Applewood Chef Brian Anderson. Call 869-9093 for
information.
The Village Inn in Monte Rio is hosting a
series of murder mystery dinners on Feb. 17, 20 and 23. Cost of the
show and dinner is $47 per person, including tax and tip. No host
cocktails at 6 p.m. and dinner seating at 6:45 p.m. Call 865-2304
for reservations.
