Lou and Susan Preston invited you to an Italian Mother’s Day at
Preston of Dry Creek Winery and Vineyards on
Sunday, May 9 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Guests are invited to
picnic in the winery gardens, sample forno-baked bread, local ice
cream and estate wines. One might also challenge one’s neighbor to
a round of bocce and take advantage of special wine discounts.
Admission to the event is $5 – but mothers are free. For
information, call 433-3372 or go to prestonvineyards.com.
If you haven’t bought your tickets yet to the new and improved
“Meals on Wheels Derby Event,” you don’t have much
time left. Organizers of the May 1 event (the day of the actual
running of the Kentucky Derby) at Sonoma-Cutrer Vineyards tell us
that they only have about 50 tickets left for the annual
fund-raiser, which includes a four-course gourmet meal, auction,
“betting” on the Derby and a live simulcast of the race. All
proceeds benefit the Council on Aging’s Meals on Wheels program.
Tickets are $125 per person. For information, call 525-0143.
