A few Wine & Food events

The 18th annual “Pick of the Vine” wine tasting
and auction is set for Saturday, April 16 at the Friedman Center in
Santa Rosa. The gala event, which features wines from 35 Russian
River Wine Road wineries, is a fundraiser for the Sonoma County
Ombudsman Program of Senior Advocacy Services, as well as the
Health Insurance Counseling and Procurement progam that benefits
North Bay seniors. the ombudsman program advocates for people in
long-term care facilities. In addition to the wines, there will be
a variety of food samplings from the county’s finest purveyors of
gourmet foods, live jazz music and large live and silent auctions.
Auction items include collectible wines, gift baskets, dinners,
lodging and original art. The event has sold out for the last
several years and advance tickets are suggested. Tickets are $40 in
