Looks like Steph, Steve, Dray and company dropped the hammer on the Celtics!
Wow! Was that unexpected at the beginning of the season or what? Time to geek out on a great basketball win. The video that told the whole story occurred in the final moments of Game 6, when Steph Curry was absolutely overcome with emotion. Crying on the floor of the Boston Garden, crying through the last seconds of the game, crying all the way through the hugs and media melee for a good 5 or 10 minutes after the final buzzer. He was overwhelmed by emotion and let it show. That said so much about the win, Curry and what this team accomplished. It wasn’t an ordinary season or ordinary championship. All the injuries, work, effort, experimentation, rebuilding, along with the team’s motto, “strength in numbers,” coalesced as the season wrapped to make the team’s playoff run truly special. Go Warriors! Congratulations on your amazing victory. Can’t wait to see what happens next year with this re-energized, re-engineered team.
Fun facts: Watching the Warriors win Game 6 at Elephant in the Room was a treat. Hat tip to KC Mosso, who runs an establishment that is unpretentious, welcoming and filled with fantastic music. Something special about H’burg when the same venue hosts locals cheering the Golden State Warriors, jumping up and down spilling beer, ringing bells in the closing seconds, then sliding into suave Brazilian jazz artists, where Bossa Nova beats and the sublime sounds of Natalie Cressman and Ian Faquini take over the venue. Spectacular!
Loving jazz, it’s been wonderful to see the expansion of the Healdsburg Jazz Festival under its new director, Marcus Shelby. Coming out of Covid hibernation, spanning the whole week and encompassing many venues around town, musicians and patrons are gathering to celebrate this uniquely American art form.
