You don’t have to be a senior to take advantage of everything the senior center has to offer. Among the many classes are those that help you learn to relax, improve your balance and well-being. The senior center offers four yoga classes, Mondays through Thursdays from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. Tai Chi is taught on Mondays from 10 to 11 a.m. A meditation circle meets Tuesdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Small donations of $3 to $5 requested. Community support of educational experiences for Cloverdale Unified School District students is a win-win. Show up at a Cloverdale Adds Resources for Education (CARE) Foundation meeting, held at 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month at Cloverdale High School in Room 10 and see how you can lend a hand. The CARE Foundation is a nonprofit comprised of educators and concerned Cloverdale community members. cusdcare.org.
The Cloverdale Tuesday Farmers’ Market is bursting with goodness. Check out the chalkboard sign in the market’s lot to find out about all of the upcoming food how-to’s and happenings in town. 3 to 6 p.m. 225 N. Cloverdale Blvd.
Cloverdale City Council meetings are held the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 6 p.m. Agendas are available about 72 hours in advance of meetings. The Cloverdale Regional Library hosts a handful of recurring weekly events for people of all ages. On Mondays, the library hosts Wee Read Baby-Toddler Storytime and Preschool Storytime. Wee Read Baby-Toddler Storytime is for children age 0-36 months at 10:30 a.m. Preschool Storytime is for kids age 3 to 6 at 11:30 a.m. On Tuesdays, the library offers homework help for K-12 students from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. On Wednesdays from 2:30 to 4 p.m., children in grade 7-12 can go to the library for Game On, a program that provides kids a space to relax and play games with their peers. The Cloverdale Arts Alliance Gallery is hosting Nurture, a mixed media exhibition. The gallery features work by featured resident artist Jane Gardner, as well as artists Laura Paine Carr, Pamela Heck, Terry Holleman, Aldo Longo, Paul Maurer, Hanya Popova Parker and Caro Pemberton. The Cloverdale Performing Arts Center will host three one-act plays by Christopher Durang. The plays will include “For Whom the Southern Belle Tolls,” a parody of “The Glass Menagerie”; “Medea,” Durang’s spoof of the Greek tragedy; and “The Actor’s Nightmare,” a one-act that follows actors who are unable to remember their lines. Friday and Saturday showings begin at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday showings begin at 2 p.m. Tickets for students are $12, and tickets for adults are $25. Cloverdale Fire Department open house. In recognition of Fire Prevention Month, the Cloverdale Fire Department is hosting an open house from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Meet your local firefighters, get to spray the hose and pick up fire prevention gear. 451 S. Cloverdale Blvd.
Asti Tour de Vine. The Cloverdale Rotary Club will host the 10th annual Asti Tour de Vine, a bicycle tour that offers bike routes ranging from 25 kilometers to 100 meters. Cloverdale Vineyard Races. The Kiwanis Club of Cloverdale will host the eighth annual Cloverdale Vineyard Races. Registration prices vary depending on race length and registration date. Those interested in participating can register at cloverdalevineyardraces.org. All proceeds from the Cloverdale Vineyard Races go toward the Kiwanis Club of Cloverdale’s charitable foundation, and the Cloverdale chapter of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
