If you like crab, January is a great time to be alive because
crab season is in full swing and it’s all-you-can-eat crab feed
time. The Sebastopol Masonic Center will host its big
all-you-can-eat crab feed on Saturday, Jan. 17 with seatings at 5
and 7 p.m. The “Spark Plugs Annual Crab Feed” promises plenty of
the succulent crustaceans, along with a full dinner that includes
pasta. Advance tickets are required, and they are $30 per person.
You can order your tickets by calling 829-1404. The Masonic Center
is located at 373 North Main St. in Sebastopol, across the street
from the Safeway store.
Reasons you should fear the
media
Medical critic Peter Hart, author of “The Oh Really? Factor:
Unspinning Fox News Channel’s Bill O’Reilly,” will speak at Sonoma
State University on Wednesday, Jan. 14 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 at
the door. Hart’s book exposes O’Reilly’s bias, error, contradiction
and a hard-right political tilt. “Fox really embodies the worst
fears about a media outlet openly siding with the party in power,
and denying that is what they do,” said Hart.”
Hart’s talk is presented by the Students for Media Democracy,
the North Bay Progressive and Project Censored.
Word Box
“What am I in the eyes of most people? A good-for-nothing, an
eccentric and disagreeable man, somebody who has no position in
society, and never will have. Very well, even if that were true, I
should want to show by my work what there is in the heart of such a
nobody, of such an eccentric man.”-Vincent van Gogh
