Open House at Burbank’s Farm
The Western Sonoma County Historical Society is
hosing its annual fall plant sale and open house on Saturday and
Sunday, Sept. 25 and 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Luther Burbank’s
Gold Ridge Farm, 7781 Bodega Ave. in Sebastopol. Many of the famed
horticulturalist’s plant varieties will be for sale, there will be
docent-led tours and guests can visit the new gift shop open in
Burbank’s 100-year-old cottage. For more information, visit

Outhouse races for Youth Park
On Saturday, Sept. 18, the Forestville Youth
Park will host its annual Xtreme Outhouse Races at the
Youth Park on Mirabel Road. Judging begins at 11 a.m. and racing
starts at 1 p.m. New this year is a cross-country outhouse race.
Supporters of the fund-raiser can build their own racer or sponsor
one or more racing teams. In addition to the races, there will be
chili and microbrew tasting competitions, food, drinks, beer and
local wines, crafts vendors and live music. For more information,
