Heifer International is hosting a fun,unique and interactive
banquet experience exploring the realities of global hunger and
poverty and the solutions that exist. The event is Nov. 5 at
Geyserville’s Grange Hall. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for
students. Heifer International follows the teachings of Mohandas
Gandhi and direct action to reduce hunger and poverty around the

KRCB, the North Bay’s public radio station is hosting a FREE CD
and music sale on Saturday Nov. 12 at the Santa Rosa Veterans
Memorial Hall, across Highway 12 from the Sonoma County
fairgrounds. Come early for the best selection and stay late for
the best bargains. KRCB has culled selections from its own library
and has also amassed collections and rare gems from listeners and
others to offer for sale as a benefit for the radio station.
Admission is free and the Santa Rosa Farmers Market will be taking
place outside at the same time.
Poetry House
Poet Elizabeth Carothers Herron will read from her book-length
poem “The Poet’s House,” beginning with the voice of Coyte
on Nov. 17 at Forestville’s Quicksilver Mine Co. The poem is
inspired by sculptor Bruce Johnson’s magical Poetry House, now
located at Paradise Ridge Winery in Santa Rosa. The Quicksilver
reading starts at 7:30 and seating is free, but limited. Donations
