During the month of September, Restaurant
Mirepoix in Windsor will donate two thirds of the sales
from “Chris’ Dessert” to the Melanoma Center of UCSF in memory of
Christine Cummings. Christine and her husband Rick dined at
Restaurant Mirepoix once or twice a month since the restaurant
opened on March 8, 2002. They became friends with Chef Matthew
Bousquet and his girlfriend and General Manager Bryan Dempsey. In
January 2004 Chris passed away, a victim of melanoma, a very
serious form of skin cancer. September is Chris’ birthday and the
Cummings’ wedding anniversary, so Bryan and Matthew decided this
was the perfect opportunity to honor the memory of their friend,
while also supporting Rick. “Chris’ Dessert” will be on the menu
during September priced at $6, with two thirds of the sales from
this dessert being donated to the Melanoma Center at UCSF. The
restaurant is located at 275 Windsor River Rd. Reservations are
