will host a retirement party for longtime SRJC Ag instructor Jim
Porter on Saturday, May 8 from 3 to 8 p.m. at SRJC’s Shone Farm
near Forestville. The dinner features a deluxe barbecue dinner, a
“mini” live auction, raffle and dancing until sundown. Proceeds
from the event will benefit the livestock facility at the Shone
Farm. Tickets are $35 per person, $20 for current full-time

Christopher Creek Winery
will host its Syrah Fiesta Event on Saturday, May 15 from 11
a.m. to 4 p.m. at the winery at 641 Limerick Ln. in Healdsburg. The
festivities will include a pairing of Mexican food with Christopher
Creek syrahs, including a vertical tasting for older syrahs and
barrel tastes of the 2003 Russian River Estate Bottle Reserve
Syrah. A special treat will be tastes of the limited release 2000
