Louis Angelo Dallara
Louis Angelo Dallara was born in San Rafael. He died on Aug. 17, 2016 at the age of 90. He was predeceased by his sisters, Marie Augusto, Clem O’Toole, Louise Bratton, Ida Ferdinand, Dorothy Dallara and Anna Dallara; his parents, John and Delfina Dallara; his friends and his loving wife, Marilyn. Warm, welcoming and humble, Louis was a family man above all. A lover of music, his family has fond memories of him singing along to the classics and keeping time by tapping on the steering wheel as he drove. Music filled his life in more ways than one; he lovingly tended to dozens of canaries in his backyard aviary for years. His kitchen was always filled with aromas of freshly baked garlic bread, minestrone soup, biscotti and muffins, which he would bake in bulk and share with his large Italian family. After graduating from Sonoma State University, he spent many years there as Administrative Assistant to the Vice President. A gardener, a student, a military veteran, a father, a colleague, an uncle, a cook and a friend, Nonno Lou will be fondly remembered and greatly missed. He is survived by his brother, Al Dallara, his daughters, Gina Dallara and Julienne Dallara, and grandchildren, Tara Hoyt, Hilary Skov and Nick Skov. A Rosary will be said in his memory on October 3, 2016 at 7 p.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Cloverdale. A Memorial Mass will be held on October 4, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church in Healdsburg.
