Douglas Duane Fonnest
Douglas Duane Fonnest, 62, of Sparks, Nevada, died peacefully in his home on June 15, 2016. He was born in Healdsburg on December 5, 1953 and moved to Sun Valley, Nevada in 1994.
Doug was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. Doug is survived by his wife Rita of 30 years, son Derrick, daughter Sierra and his step children Glenda, Charles and Dusty; grandchildren Isaiah, Gage, Talan, Clayton, Brianna, Jacob, Kenneth, Robert, Maria and Alex. Doug is also survived by his brothers Roger, Bruce, Jerry and Brian; his sisters Bonnie, Jackie and Claudine; as well as many nieces and nephews. Doug loved spending time with his family, enjoyed watching NASCAR, and was a lifelong fan of the San Francisco Giants and 49ers. He never missed watching Hot August Nights each year since moving to Nevada. Doug was always smiling and making jokes, trying to entertain those around him. His family would like to send a special thank you to St Mary’s Hospice for their loving care and support.
