Robert Brashares
Peace and social justice advocate
Reverend Dr. Robert M. “Bob” Brashares was born on May 16, 1927 and died at home in Sebastopol on Aug. 4, 2015. Brashares was a longtime advocate for peace and social justice, an early activist for civil rights, a conscientious objector in World War II and served as a United Methodist minister for over 40 years. He led group tours to the Holy Land and traveled to many regions of the world. An avid hiker, for many summers he renewed his spirit in the Sierra Nevada. Brashares was predeceased by his parents, Bishop Charles Wesley Brashares and Julia Merrill Brashares; brothers, Wesley Emerson Brashares and Merrill Brashares; and daughter, Betty Ann Brashares. He is survived by his wife, Lucinda Brashares; children, Bruce Brashares, Julia Brashares and June Brashares; son-in-law, Woody Hastings; grandson, Nathan Brashares Sackett, granddaughter-in-law, Rebecca Siegel; and great-grandchildren, Odessa Brashares Siegel and Ezra Brashares Siegel. Memorial gifts in Brashare’s honor may be made to Sutter Hospice, Sierra Club and Santa Rosa’s First United Methodist Church Foundation for scholarships. A cremation service will be held at Trident Society in Walnut Creek. Brashare’s family is holding a private memorial in October.
Betty Paine Dollarhide
Adored grandmother
Betty Paine Dollarhide passed away in Santa Rosa on August 3, 2015. Dearly beloved wife of Glenn Dollarhide; loving mother of Melinda M. Rihtarshich (Frank), Melonie Miller, Maren M Scotchler (Bryan), Ross Miller (Maggie), and Kim M Frisbie (Clint); adored grandmother of eight and great grandmother of four. Her family said they will miss her warm, sometimes mischievious smile, her sharp mind, her inquisitive ways and her faith and encouragement expressed to them in many ways. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday August 22 at 2 p.m. at Windsor Community Methodist Church, 9451 Brooks Rd S., Windsor.
Michael Lee Falleri
Known for humor and giving personality
Michael (Mike) Lee Falleri passed away peacefully on August 3, 2015 in Healdsburg at the age of 63. Mike was born in Fort Bragg and lived in Elk until 1969 when he moved to Cloverdale. As a 46-year resident of Cloverdale, Mike worked 38 of those years as a water treatment operator for the city of Cloverdale. He was well known throughout the community for his humor and giving personality. When he wasn’t being a husband, father, Nono, friend or dedicated employee, he enjoyed gardening, hunting, mushrooming, abalone diving and sharing meals with family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 41 years Sharon Falleri; sons Shaun (Jannie) and Chad (Nicholena Sorensen); mother Merna Falleri; brother Alan Falleri; aunt Norma Harrison; his cherished grandchildren Aidan, Gavin, Dakota and Gwen; also survived by godmother Joan Valenti, godfather Alan Nonella and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, brother and sister-in-laws. Mike was predeceased by his father Roy Falleri. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday August 13 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Fred Young F. H. 428 N. Cloverdale Blvd. Cloverdale. A funeral mass will be celebrated Friday August 14 at 11 a.m. at St. Peters Catholic Church, Cloverdale. Inurnment will be private.
