Rev. Robert B Litzenberger, Jr., of Windsor, CA., was born in Kingston, PA., on March 20, 1938 to Robert B., Sr. and Florence (Scott) Litzenberger. He died on August 18, 2017, at the age of 79.
Robert, younger brother Charles, and family lived in the coal mining town of Wilkes Barres, PA. He played football there and graduated from high school in 1955. At the age of 13, Robert received the Lord Jesus as his personal Savior and following high school began his preparation for Christian service at Philadelphia College of Bible. In 1960, after completing a year of training for youth ministry, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and married Marcia Gillett of Burr Oak, KS. While serving, he became an instructor in aircraft and missile electronics at Chanute Air Force Base in IL. In 2000, after many years of pastoring, he retired and moved to Windsor. In 2010, Robert and Marcia celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marcia; children: Rita Hatfield (Mark) of Fountain Inn, SC.; Pastor Robert B. III (Beth) of Brady, NE.; George of Sacramento; Randy (Stephanie) of Clinton, SC.; Ron (Lianne) of Huntsville, AL.; and Russell of Windsor; fourteen grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family, a host of friends and a large Christian community.
Robert chose John 3:30 for his life’s verse. “He must increase, but I must decrease.” “Christ Liveth in Me” was his favorite hymn.
A memorial service will be on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 2 Baltimore Avenue in Larkspur. Special guest pastor, Rev.
