Thomas Masterson, 83, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2005.
He was the devoted husband of 26 years to Glenna Masterson.
Originally from Ohio, he lived in Sonoma County for the past 20
years. Thomas was a World II veteran, who lost his arm and shoulder
in the war. As an award winning medical photographer, he worked at
the Veterans Administration Hospital in San Francisco and at
Stanford. He was a member of the Rivers Bend Men’s Club, past
president of the Senior Club, and enjoyed bowling as a hobby. He
was a very likable and kind man, quiet, strong, and gentle. Always
ready to help, he will be missed greatly by his many friends and
family. He was the husband of Glenna Masterson; the father of Toni
Montoya, Bruce Masterson, and Wendy Sawyer; the stepfather of Diane
Rose and Daniel Tannenbaum; the grandfather of Chris and Robert
Sawyer, Dallas Montoya, Heather and Kelsey Masterson; he was known
affectionately as PaPa Tom by Lindsey, Lisa and Cameron Rose, and
Trevor Sherlin; the brother of Jean Camey; and he will also be
missed by extended family members Jim and Diane Franklin, Leslie
Holmes, Joanie Masterson, Joe Montoya, Martin Sawyer, many nieces
and nephews, and many of his dear friends. Private services for
will be held for friends and family on March 23 and a memorial will
be announced at a later date.
